What is a CQG VPS?

A CQG VPS is a Virtual Private Server tuned to host CQG’s trading software — CQG Integrated Client (IC), CQG QTrader, CQG M, and the CQG API connectors used by NinjaTrader, Sierra Chart, and bespoke C++/.NET trading systems. The defining requirement is locality: the CQG gateway is co-located in Equinix CH4 in Chicago, and CME’s matching engines are 35 miles west in Aurora.

For a CQG-routed futures trader, a Chicago PropVPS instance reaches the CQG gateway in under 500μs and the CME order book in under 200μs after gateway processing. The same workload from a home connection in New York adds 15–20ms; from London, 80ms+.

Who uses CQG?

CQG is the second-largest futures order-routing and data gateway in the US after Rithmic.
